153 Behold mine affliction, and deliver me: for I
have not forgotten thy law. (a)
154 Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me
according unto thy word.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked, because they
seek not thy statutes. (b)
156 Great art thy tender mercies, O Lord: quicken
me according to thy judgments.
157 My persecutors and mine oppressors are many:
yet do I not swerve from thy testimonies. (c)
158 I saw the transgressors and was grieved, because
they kept not thy word. (d)
159 Consider, O Lord, how I love thy precepts:
quicken me according to thy loving kindness.
160 The beginning of thy word is truth, and all
the judgments of thy righteousness endure forever. (e)

(a) Verse 153
Lamentations 3:1
I am the man that hath seen affliction in
the rod of his indignation.
Colossians 1:24
Now rejoice I in my sufferings for you, and
fulfill the 2rest of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh,
for his body’s sake, which is the Church,

(b) Verse 155
Habakkuk 3:13
Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy
people, even for salvation with thine Anointed:
thou hast wounded the head of the house of the
wicked, and discoveredst the foundations unto the
neck, Selah.
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, among whom my Name is called
upon, do humble themselves, and pray and seek my
presence, and turn from their wicked ways, then will
I hear in heaven and be merciful to their sin, and
will 1heal their land:
Nehemiah 9:35
And they have not served thee in their kingdom,
and in thy great goodness that thou showedst unto
them, and in the large and fat land which thou didst
set before them, and have not converted from their
evil works

(c) Verse 157
Psalm 44:18
Our heart is not turned back: neither our steps
gone out of thy paths,
Job 23:11 - 12
11 My foot hath followed his steps: his way have
I kept, and have not declined:
12 Neither have I departed from the commandment
of his lips, and I have esteemed the words of
his mouth more than mine appointed food.
Job 31:7
If my step hath turned out of the way, or mine
heart hath 1walked after mine eye, or if any blot hath
cleaved to mine hands,

(d) Verse 158
Isaiah 1:28
And the destruction of the transgressors and
of the sinners shall be together: and they that forsake
the Lord, shall be consumed.
Genesis 6:6
Then it repented the Lord, that he had made
man in the earth, and he was sorry in his heart.
Jeremiah 5:3.
O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the 1truth?
thou hast 2stricken them, but they have not sorrowed:
thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to
receive correction: they have made their faces harder
than a stone, and have refused to return.
Matthew 23:37
1Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the Prophets,
and stonest them which are sent to thee, how
often would I have gathered thy children together,
as the hen gathered her chickens under her wings,
and ye would not!

(e) Verse 160
Psalm 9:7
But the Lord shall sit forever: he hath prepared
his throne for judgment.
Psalm 100:5
For the Lord is good: his mercy is everlasting,
and his truth is from generation to generation.

145 I have cried with my whole heart: hear me, O
Lord, and I will keep thy statutes.
146 I called upon thee: save me, and I will keep thy
testimonies.
147 I prevented the morning light, and cried: for I
waited on thy word. (a)
148 Mine eyes prevent the night watches, to meditate
in thy word. (b)
149 Hear my voice according to thy loving kindness:
O Lord, quicken me according to thy judgment.
150 They draw near that follow after malice, and
are far from thy Law.
151 Thou art near, O Lord: for all thy commandments
are true. (c)
152 I have known long since by thy testimonies,
that thou hast established them forever. (d)

(a) Verse 147 Psalm 5:3
Hear my voice in the morning, O Lord: for in the
morning will I direct me unto thee, and I will wait.
(b) Verse 148 Psalm 63:1, 6
1 O God, thou art my God, early will I seek thee:
my soul thirsteth for thee: my flesh longeth greatly
after thee in a barren and dry land without water
6 When I remember thee on my bed, and when
I think upon thee in the night watches.
(c) Verse 151 Isaiah 50:8
8 He is near that justifieth me: who will contend
with me? Let us stand together? who is mine adversary?
let him come near to me.
(d) Verse 152 Luke 21:33
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words
shall not pass away
