169 Let my complaint come before thee, O Lord,
and give me understanding according unto thy
word.
170 Let my supplication come before thee, and
deliver me according to thy promise.
171 My lips shall speak praise, when thou hast
taught me thy statutes.
172 My tongue shall entreat of thy word: for all
thy commandments are righteous.
173 Let thine hand help me: for I have chosen thy
precepts.
174 I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord, and
thy Law is my delight.
175 Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee, and
thy 1judgments shall help me.
176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep: seek thy
servant, for I do not forget thy commandments. (a)

(a) Verse 176
John 10:1 - 16
1 Verily, verily I say unto you, He that entereth
not in by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth
up another way, he is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that goeth in by the door, is the shepherd
of the sheep.
3 To him the porter openeth, and the sheep hear
his voice, and he calleth his own sheep by name, and
leadeth them out.
4 And when he hath sent forth his own sheep,
he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for
they know his voice.
5 And they will not follow a stranger, but they
flee from him: for they know not the voice of
strangers.
6 This 1parable spake Jesus unto them: but they
understood not what things they were which he
spake unto them.
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily
I say unto you, I am that door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me, are thieves and
robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am that door: by me if any man enter in, he
shall be saved, and shall go in, and go out, and find
pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to
kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have
life, and have it in abundance.
11 I am that good shepherd: that good shepherd
giveth his life for his sheep.
12 But an hireling, and he which is not the shepherd,
neither the sheep are his own, seeth the wolf
coming, and he leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and
the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 So the hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling,
and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am that good shepherd, and know mine, and
am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, so know I the
Father: and I lay down my life for my sheep.
16 Other sheep I have also, which fold:
them also must I bring, and they shall hear
my voice: and there shall be one sheepfold, and
one shepherd.

161 Princes have persecuted me without cause:
but mine heart stood in awe of thy words. (a)
162 I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth a great
spoil. (b)
163 I hate falsehood and abhor it, but thy Law do
I love.
164 Seven times a day do I praise thee, because of
thy righteous judgments.
165 They that love thy law, shall have great prosperity,
and they shall have none hurt. (c)
166 Lord, I have trusted in thy salvation, and have
done thy commandments. (d)
167 My soul hath kept thy testimonies: for I love
them exceedingly.
168 I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies:
for all my ways are before thee.

(a) Verse 161
Editor’s thought - Upon reading this verse I was reminded of the life of the Israelites under Pharaoh. I suggest reading Exodus 1:12 - 21 to understand what I am trying to communicate.

(b) Verse 162
Psalm 40:16
Let all them that seek thee, rejoice and be glad
in thee, and let them that love thy salvation, say
always, The Lord be praised.
Matthew 13:44 - 46
let him hear.
44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto
a treasure hid in the field, which when a man hath
found, he hideth it, and for joy thereof departeth, and
selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like to a
merchant man that seeketh good pearls,
46 Who having found a pearl of great price, went
and sold all that he had and bought it
Philippians 2:16
Holding forth the word of life, that I may
rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in
vain, neither have labored in vain.

(c) Verse 165
Genesis 39:3
And his master saw that the Lord was with him,
and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in
his hand.
Job 36:11
if they obey and serve him, they shall end
their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures

(d) Verse 166
Genesis 49:18
O Lord, I have waited for thy salvation
Isaiah 25:9
And in that day shall men say, Lo, this is our
God: we have waited for him, and he will save us.
This is the Lord, we have waited for him, we will
rejoice and be joyful in salvation
Job 13:16
He shall be my salvation also: for the hypocrite
shall not come before him.
Luke 1:69, 77
69 And hath raised up the horn of salvation unto
us, in the house of his servant David
77 And to give knowledge of salvation unto his
people, by the remission of their sins
