A song of degrees.

1 Blessed is everyone that feareth the Lord, and
walketh in his ways. (a)
2 When thou eatest the labors of thine hands,
thou shalt be blessed, and it shall be well with
thee. (b)
3 Thy wife shall be as the fruitful vine on the sides
of thine house, and thy children like the olive plants
round about thy table.
4 Lo, surely thus shall the man be blessed, that
feareth the Lord.
5 The Lord out of Zion shall bless thee, and
thou shalt see the wealth of Jerusalem all the days
of thy life. (c)
6 Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and
peace upon Israel.

12 And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God
require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk
in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord
thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul?
13 That thou keep the commandments of the Lord
and his ordinances, which I command thee this day,
for thy wealth?
Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of
knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction

(b) Verse 2
Deuteronomy 7:13
And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply
thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb,
and the fruit of thy land, thy corn and thy wine, and
thine oil, and the increase of thy kine, and the flocks
of thy sheep in the land, which he sware unto thy
fathers to give thee.
Psalm 121:8

2 Yea, many nations shall come and say, Come,
and let us go up to the Mountain of the Lord, and
to the House of the God of Jacob, and he will 1teach
us his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the
Law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord
from Jerusalem.
5 For all people will walk everyone in the name
of his god, and we will walk in the Name of the Lord
our God, forever and ever.

A song of degrees, or Psalm of Solomon.

1 Except the Lord build the house, they labor
in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city,
the keeper watcheth in vain. (a)
2 It is in vain for you to rise early, and to lie down
late, and eat the bread of sorrow: but he will surely
give rest to his beloved.
3 Behold, children are the inheritance of the
Lord, and the fruit of the womb his reward. (b)
4 As are the arrows in the hand of the strong
man; so are the children of youth.
5 Blessed is the man that hath his quiver full of
them: for they shall not be ashamed, when they
speak with their enemies in the gate.

(a) Verse 1
Matthew 16:17 - 18
17 And Jesus answered, and said to him, Blessed
art thou, Simon, the son of Jonah: for flesh and blood
hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which
is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, that thou art j,2Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my Church: and the
gates of hell shall not overcome it.
Luke 6:48
He is like a man which built an house, and dug
deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when
the waters arose, the flood beat upon that house, and
could not shake it: for it was grounded upon a rock.
Romans 9:33
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling
stone, and a rock to make men fall: and everyone that
believeth in him, shall not be ashamed.

(b) Verse 3
Job 31:15, 18
15 He that hath made me in the womb, hath he
not made him? hath not he alone fashioned us in
the womb?
18 (For from my youth hath he grown up with
me 1as with a father, and from my mother’s womb
have I been a guide unto her.)
Psalm 22:9 - 10
9 But thou didst draw me out of the 1womb:
thou gavest me hope, even at my mother’s breasts.
10 I was cast upon thee, even from the 1womb:
thou art my God from my mother’s belly
Luke 1:42
And she cried with a loud voice, and said,
Blessed art thou among women, because 1the fruit
of thy womb is blessed.
Luke 11:27 - 28
27 And it came to pass as he said these things,
a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice,
and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare
thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
28 But he said, Yea, rather blessed are they that
hear the word of God, and keep it.
Galatians 1:15
15 But when it pleased God (which had separated
me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his
grace.)
16 To reveal his Son 1in me, that I should preach
him among the Gentiles immediately, I communicated
not with flesh and blood:

Editor’s Note - there is a collaboration of spiritual inspiration between Paul’s statement in Galatians 1:16 and Jesus speaking unto Simon Peter in Matthew 16:17 wherein we see that in both instances God had revealed Christ Jesus as Savior to both men.
