A song of degrees.

1 Behold, praise ye the Lord, all ye servants of the
Lord, ye that by night stand in the house of the Lord.
2 Lift up your hands to the Sanctuary, and praise
the Lord. (a)
3 The Lord that hath made heaven and earth,
bless thee out of Zion.

(a) Verse 2
Editor’s thought - The Psalmist is saying that at all times we should give praise unto God. To give Him praise at all times, day, or night. Note also that He says “all ye servants” of the Lord. Paul understood this as did many of the prophets that it is and always has been that ALL people should come to the knowledge and understanding of God, and to give him praise, worship, and thanksgiving.

Sanctuary - 6944 qodesh ko'-desh a sacred place or thing; rarely abstract, sanctity:--consecrated (thing), dedicated (thing), hallowed (thing), holiness, most holy (day, portion, thing), saint, sanctuary

Praise - 3034 yadah yaw-daw' a primitive root; used only as denominative literally, to use (i.e. hold out) the hand; physically, especially to revere or worship (with extended hands); (give) thank(-ful, -s, -sgiving).

Psalm 150:1
1 Praise ye God in his Sanctuary: praise ye him
in the 2firmament of his power.
Romans 15:9 - 11
9 And let the Gentiles praise God, for his mercy,
as it is written, For this cause I will confess thee
among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy Name.
10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles with
his people.
11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles,
and laud ye him all people together.
Hebrews 2:12
Saying, I will declare thy Name unto my
brethren: in the midst of the Church will I sing
praises to thee.
Hebrews 13:15
Let us therefore by him offer the sacrifice of
praise always to God, that is, the fruit of the lips,
which confess his Name.
Revelations 19:5 - 7
5 Then a voice came out of the throne, saying,
Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear
him, both small and great.
6 And I heard like a voice of a great multitude,
and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of
strong thunderings, saying, Hallelujah: for the Lord
that God that Almighty one hath reigned.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give glory to
him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his
wife hath made herself ready.

A song of degrees, or Psalm of David.

1 Behold, how good and how comely a thing it
is, brethren to dwell even together. (a)
2 It is like to the precious ointment upon the
head, that runneth down upon the beard, even unto
Aaron’s beard, which went down on the border of
his garments, (b)
3 And as the dew of Hermon which falleth
upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord
appointed the blessing and life forever.

(a) Verse 1
Isaiah 11:6, 9
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and
the leopard shall lie with the kid, and the calf, and
the lion, and the fat beast together, and a little child
shall lead them.
9 Then shall none hurt nor destroy in all the
mountain of mine holiness: for the earth shall be
full of the knowledge of the Lord, as 1the waters
that cover the sea.
Ezekiel 34:25 - 28
25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace,
and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land,
and they shall 1dwell safely in the wilderness, and
sleep in the woods.
26 And I will set them, as a blessing, even round
about my mountains, and I will cause rain to come
down in due season: and there shall be rain of
blessing.
27 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit,
and the earth shall give her fruit, and they shall
be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the
Lord, when I have broken the cords of their yoke,
and delivered them out of the hands of those that
served themselves of them.
28 And they shall no more be spoiled of the
heathen, neither shall the beasts of the land devour
them, but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make
them afraid.
(b) Verse 2
1 Samuel 16:13
Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed
him in the midst of his brethren. And the Spirit of
the Lord 1came upon David, from that day forward:
then Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
Luke 7:37 - 38
37 And behold, a woman in the city, which was a
sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at table in the
Pharisee’s house, she brought a box of ointment.
38 And she stood at his feet behind him weeping,
and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe
them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet,
and anointed them with the ointment.
Hebrews 1:9
Thou hast loved righteousness and hated iniquity.
Wherefore God, even thy God, hath anointed
thee with the oil of gladness, above thy fellows.
