Editor’s note - It never ceases to amaze me as to how God’s love of us is made manifest through various everyday actions. I had been speaking with a friend yesterday morning who was going through a rough patch in life. I cannot divulge the details, but suffice to say it left my friend angry.
Before the conversation ended I sent a link to Psalm 37, and suggested in particular verse 8 of that Psalm.
I later received a message with a notation to read Isaiah 40, which I have just done before making this post. After reading that and now reading Psalm 136, I see that God’s Word always comes full circle, and how He confirms His Word to each of us.
I fear however that I am not doing well in explaining what I am thinking. Sometimes I find it so difficult to put into words, what I understand to dwell within me, and translate to paper, (even if it is electronic paper).
What I am trying so feebly to say is that in Psalm 37, we find that God is letting us know to not fear this wicked, yet temporal world. That it is all a matter for Him to deal with, and that we, should be patient. In Isaiah 40 we get a similar message in so far as He reminds his people that the battle has always been His battle, and we are to take comfort in that knowledge, even though, it affects us. And finally in the above Psalm 136, we are instructed yet again to be of good cheer, as His mercy is meant for us and endures forever.
