The Messiah Revealed; I am He, The Living Water
John 4:9 - 15, 23 - 26

9 Then said the woman of Samaria unto him,
How is it, that thou being a Jew, askest drink of
me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews
meddle not with the Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou
knewest that gift of God, and who it is that saith
to thee, Give me drink, thou wouldest have asked of
him, and he would have given thee water of life. (a)
11 The woman said unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing
to draw with, and the Well is deep: from whence
then hast thou that water of life?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which
gave us the Well, and he himself drank thereof, and
his sons, and his cattle.
13 Jesus answered, and said unto her, Whosoever
drinketh of this water, shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I
shall give him, shall never be more athirst: but the
water that I shall give him, shall be in him a well of
water, springing up into everlasting life. (a)
15 The woman said unto him, Sir, give me of that
water, that I may not thirst, neither come hither to
draw.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true
worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit
and Truth: for the Father requireth even such to
worship him.
24 God is a Spirit, and they that worship him,
must worship him in Spirit and Truth. (b)
25 The woman said unto him, I know well that
Messiah shall come, which is called Christ: when he
is come, he will tell us all things.
26 Jesus said unto her, I am he, that speak unto
thee. (c)

The New Birth; Putting on the New Man
John 3:1 - 21

1 There was now a man of the Pharisees, named
Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
2 This man came to Jesus by night, and said unto
him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come
from God, for no man could do these miracles that
thou doest, except God were with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily
verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born again,
he cannot see the kingdom of God. (a)
4 Nicodemus said unto him, How can a man
be born which is old? can he enter into his mother’s
womb again, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily I say unto thee,
except that a man be born of water and of the Spirit,
he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh, is flesh: and
that that is born of the Spirit, is spirit. (b)
7 Marvel not that I said to thee, Ye must be born
again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou
hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence
it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every man that
is born of the Spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered, and said unto him,
How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered, and said unto him, Art thou
a teacher of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily I say unto thee, We speak that we
know, and testify that we have seen: but ye receive
not our witness.
12 If when I tell you earthly things, ye believe not,
how should ye believe, If I shall tell you of heavenly
things?
13 For no man ascendeth up to heaven, but he
that had descended from heaven, that Son of man
which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the
wilderness, so must that Son of man be lifted up,
15 That whosoever believeth in him, should not
perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loveth the world, that he hath given
his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. (c)
17 For God sent not his Son into the world, that
he should condemn the world, but that the world
through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth in him, is not condemned:
but he that believeth not, is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the Name of that
only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that that light
came into the world, and men loved darkness rather
than that light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every man that evil doeth, hateth the light,
neither cometh to light, lest his deeds should be
reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth, cometh to the light,
that his deeds might be made manifest, that they
are wrought according to God.

The Lamb of God
John 1:29 - 34

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto
him, and saith, Behold that Lamb of God, which
taketh away the sin of the world. (a)
30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a
man, which was before me: for he was better than I.
31 And I knew him not: but because he should
be declared to Israel, therefore am I come, baptizing
with water.
32 So John bare record, saying, I beheld, that
Spirit come down from heaven, like a dove, and it
abode upon him,
33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to
baptize with water, he said unto me, Upon whom
thou shalt see that Spirit come down, and tarry
still on him, that is he which baptizeth with the
holy Ghost.
34 And I saw, and bare record that this is that
Son of God.

A Voice in the Wilderness

John the Baptist preparing the way for the coming Messiah
John 1:19 - 28

19 Then this is the record of John, when the
Jews sent Priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask
him, Who art thou? (a)
20 And he confessed and denied not, and said
plainly, I ham not that Christ.
21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah?
And he said, I am not. Art thou that Prophet?
And he answered, No.
22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou, that
we may give an answer to them that sent us? What
sayest thou of thyself?
23 He said, I am the voice of him that crieth in
the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord,
as said the Prophet Isaiah. (b)
24 Now they which were sent, were of the
Pharisees.
25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why
baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, neither
Elijah, nor that Prophet?
26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with
water: but there is one among you, whom ye know
not.
27 He it is that cometh after me, which was before
me, whose shoe latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond
Jordan, where John did baptize.

However, the KJV is itself a good translatoin and is very similar.  I would if I could, supply links to the Geneva Bible, but so far the only decent site I have found does not provide individual links per scripture.

The Word Becomes Flesh
14 And that Word was made flesh, and dwelt
among us, (and we saw the glory thereof, as the
glory of the only begotten Son of the Father) full

The True Light

6 There was a man sent from God, whose
name was John.
7 This same came for a witness, to bear witness
of that light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that light, but was sent to bear
witness of that light.
9 This was that true light, which lighteth every
man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made
by him: and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received
him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them he gave
prerogative to be the sons of God, even to them that
believe in his Name,
13 Which are born not of blood, nor of the will
of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The Eternal Word

John 1:1 - 5
1 In the beginning was that Word, and that
Word was with God, and that Word was God.
2 This same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by it, and without it
was made nothing that was made.
4 In it was life, and that life was the light of
men.
5 And that light shineth in the wilderness, and
the darkness comprehendeth it not.

Loving God and God’s Love of You

I have read on various sites the following quote;

“God loves you not for who you are but for who HE is”

I can see the logic in this and I can agree but I do want to point out that without accepting Christ Jesus as Savior it means nothing. Yes, He loves us all, but He also wants us all to look to His Son as the sacrificial lamb given unto us for our sins.

Remember God is NOT a respecter of persons, but He expects us to be respectful of His commandments. Now He knows it is impossible for us to walk perfectly in His ways, (if we could have we’d have been saved under the law and there would have been no need for a Savior), but I do believe He wants us to try to walk as much as possible in His ways.

More than any of the below I would suggest reading 1 Corinthians Chapter 13 in it’s entirety. The rest would just be icing on the cake so to speak.

Joshua 22:5
But take diligent heed, to do the commandment
and Law, which Moses the servant of the
Lord commanded you: that is, that ye love the
Lord your God, and walk in all his ways, and keep
his commandments, and cleave unto him, and serve
him with all your heart, and with all your soul.

Joshua 23:11
Take good heed therefore unto yourselves,
that ye love the Lord your God.

Joshua 24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord,
choose you this day whom ye will serve, whether the
gods which your fathers served (that were beyond the
flood) or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye
dwell: but I and mine house will serve the Lord.

John 3:16 - 17
16 For God so loveth the world, that he hath given
his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world, that
he should condemn the world, but that the world
through him might be saved.

John 14:15, 23
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
23 Jesus answered, and said unto him, If any man
love me, he will keep my word, and my Father will
love him, and we will come unto him, and will dwell

Romans 8:28, 32, 37 - 39
28 Also we know that all things work together
for the best unto them that love God, even to them
that are called of his purpose.
32 Who spared not his own Son, but gave him
for us all to death, how shall he not with him 1give
us all things also
37 Nevertheless, in all these things we are more
than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded that neither death, nor
life, nor Angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor
things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Revelations 3:19
19 As many as I love, rebuke and chasten: be
zealous therefore and amend.

Giving it over to God

I am posting the following scriptures today, with a good friend of mine in mind.

2 Samuel 22:31 - 32
31 The way of God is uncorrupt: the word of the
Lord is tried in the fire: he is a shield to all that trust
in him.
32 For who is God besides the Lord? and who is
mighty, save our God?

2 Chronicles 15:4
But whosoever returned in his affliction to the
Lord God of Israel, and sought him, he 1was found
of him.

Psalm 37:3 - 5
3 Trust thou in the Lord and do good: dwell in
the land, and thou shalt be fed assuredly:
4 And delight thyself in the Lord, and he shall
give thee thine heart’s desire.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord, and trust in
him, and he shall bring it to pass.

Proverbs 3:5 - 8, 24
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and
lean not unto thine own wisdom.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall
direct thy ways.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: but fear the
Lord, and depart from evil.
8 So health shall be unto thy navel, and marrow
unto thy bones.
24 If thou sleepest, thou shalt not be afraid: and
when thou sleepest, thy sleep shall be sweet.

Isaiah 55:6, 11
6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found: call
ye upon him while he is near.
11 So shall my word be, that goeth out of my
mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall
accomplish that which I will, and it shall prosper in
the thing whereto I sent it.

Romans 4:21
Being fully assured that he which had promised,
was also able to do it.

2 Corinthians 1:4
Which comforteth us in all our tribulation,
that we may be able to comfort them which are in
any affliction by the comfort wherewith we ourselves
are comforted of God.

1 Peter 3:13 - 14
13 And who is it that will harm you, if ye follow
that which is good?
14 Notwithstanding blessed are ye, if ye suffer for
righteousness’ sake. Yea, fear not their fear, neither
be troubled.

1 Peter 5:6 - 7
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty
hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
7 Cast all your care on him: for he careth for
you.

Faith

Matthew 9:21 - 22, 28 - 29
21 For she said in herself, If I may touch but his
garment only, I shall be whole.
22 Then Jesus turned him about, and seeing her,
did say, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath
made thee whole. And the woman was made whole
at that same moment.)
28 And when he was come into the house, the blind
came to him, and Jesus said unto them, Believe ye
that I am able to do this? And they said unto him,
Yea, Lord.
29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According
to your faith be it unto you.

Mark 2:5
Now when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the
sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins are forgiven thee.

1 Peter 1:5, 8 - 9
5 Which are kept by the power of God through
faith unto salvation, which is prepared to be showed
in the last time.
8 Whom ye have not seen, and yet love him, in
whom now, though ye see him not, yet do you believe,
and rejoice with [joy] unspeakable and glorious,
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation
of your souls.

1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your care on him: for he careth for
you.

Hope
Job 11:18
And thou shalt be bold, because there is hope:
and thou shalt dig pits, and shalt lie down safely.

Psalm 42:5
Why art thou cast down, my soul, and unquiet
within me? wait on God: for I will yet give him
thanks for the help of his presence.

Jeremiah 17:7 - 8
7 Blessed be the man that trusteth in the Lord,
and whose hope the Lord is.
8 For he shall be as a tree that is planted by the
water, which spreadeth out her roots by the river,
and shall not feel when the heat cometh, but her
leaf shall be green, and shall not care for the year of
drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Romans 4:18, 21
18 Which Abraham above hope, believed under
hope, that he should be the father of many nations:
according to that which was spoken to him, So shall
thy seed be.
21 Being fully assured that he which had promised,
was also able to do it.

Romans 8:24 - 25
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is
seen, is not hope: for how can a man hope for that
which he seeth?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, we do with
patience abide for it.

Hebrews 3:6
But Christ is as the Son, over his own house,
whose house we are, if we hold fast that confidence
and that rejoicing of that hope unto the end.

1 Peter 3:15
But 1sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, 2and
be ready always to give an answer to every man that
asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with
meekness and reverence.
